Review

  The times when Electric Scooters looked all alike are over. Today, the market offers devices of different shapes, performances, and price ranges. So let’s talk about a high-end electric scooter with solid construction and good performance: the INOKIM Quick 4 Super. It doesn’t feature the impressive top-speed and mileage of more expensive devices, but it’s a good electric scooter to replace your conventional means of transport.

Quality and Design of INOKIM Quick 4 Super Electric Scooter :

The INOKIM Quick 4 Super has the design of a high-end electric scooter. It has a big and visible front suspension, a large deck, and big and ergonomic handgrips. The display on the handlebars (see below for details) is the widest in the market. The main colors are grey and red which is something quite unique in a market dominated by black frames.

The INOKIM Quick 4 Super is supposed to be a portable electric scooter: it features a quick and simple foldable design and the frame is well balanced when you carry the folded e-scooter. The electric scooter, however, still weighs 47.4 lb that is quite something to carry on your shoulders. The extra weight, on the other hand, makes the device more stable on the road.

Handlebars

The INOKIM Quick 4 Super electric scooter features a straight handlebar with big, rubberized, and ergonomic handgrips. It has two brake levers that operate the front and rear drum brakes and a wide display

With the buttons located on the left side – that you can push with your left thumb without moving your hand from the handgrip – you can select the riding mode and activate the lights. All the adjustments you make are well-visible on the display that is large and clear. The accelerator is instead located on the right side: it’s a small lever that you can push/release with your thumb.

Tires

The INOKIM Quick 4 Super comes with 25.4 cm inner tube tires. They are mounted on split rides and provide an excellent grip on the road. As for all pneumatic tires, they require some maintenance: check the air pressure every once in a while!

They could also be subject to puncture (even though they are strong and resistant) but they also provide the most comfortable ride possible.

Lights

The INOKIM Quick 4 Super is equipped with an excellent set of light: two-button deck lights that are supposed to work as headlights to illuminate the road ahead; a red tail light mounted on the big rear fender that automatically turns on when it’s dark thanks to a light sensor that you can adjust throughout the display for turning the lights on at varying levels of environment brightness.

The button deck lights help make the electric scooter well visible on the road; however, they are not powerful enough to enlighten the road ahead when it’s dark. If you’re going to ride at night or with poor light conditions, we recommend mounting an additional and more powerful headlight on the handlebars.

Deck

The INOKIM Quick 4 Super is equipped with the shortest deck we’ve ever tested. The deck is quite wide – 21.6 cm – but short – only 39.4 cm. We didn’t experience balance or performing issues during our tests, but some users have claimed that the short deck makes the ride a bit uncomfortable.

On the deck, a couple of grip tape stripes provide adherence for the feet even when the deck gets wet. It also features a small and resistant handle at the rear that you can use to carry the electric scooter when folded and upright.

Brakes

This electric scooter features dual drum brakes: they can provide a braking distance of 3.6 meters. The brakes can be comfortably operated by the two brake lever on the handlebars: they’re well responsive and, with the drum brakes providing excellent modulation, you can bring the e-scooter to maximum braking without skidding.

Since the deck is so short, however, we’ve experienced that – in order to have the best balance while braking strongly – you may want to bring your weight rearward. It’s a bit uncomfortable at the beginning because, as we’ve said, the deck is short, but you can quickly get used to it.

Assembling

The INOKIM Quick 4 Super comes fully assembled. There is very little that you need to do before your first ride on this electric scooter. The tires, handlebars, and handgrips are already mounted. All you need to do is unfold the stem and handgrips and secure them to their places. You can then adjust the handlebars’ height as you like, and the electric scooter is assembled. Just like that!

Before you go, a couple of operations need to be done: charge the device, and check the pressure of the pneumatic tire – the pump is included in the box: if it’s too low, the ride will be uncomfortable and the mileage would shorten; if it’s too high you increase the risk of puncture.

The INOKIM Quick 4 Super’s box also includes:

  • the charger;
  • a multi-tool;
  • the pump;
  • user manuals;
  • the Warranty certificate.

Performance for INOKIM Quick 4 Super :

The INOKIM Quick 4 Star can provide a top speed of 25 mph. Other electric scooters of the same price-range can ride faster, but since this is an electric scooter made for portability and commuting, making it faster makes no sense: you can’t go faster than 15-20 mph on most city roads all around the world.

The acceleration is powerful and smooth, climbing hills and small bumps is no issue with this electric scooter. The big suspensions make the riding smooth and secure.

With the pneumatic tires and the suspensions, the riding feels very comfortable and smooth. The only thing that requires some time to get used to is the short deck during braking. You often find yourself too close to the handlebar and you can feel like you’re losing your balance: just move your bodyweight backward to solve the problem.

Battery life

The INOKIM Quick 4 Star features a 48V, 13 AH battery and a nominal mileage of about 40 miles. Mile-range often depends on so many factors, but our tests demonstrated that – with a medium weight rider and quite an aggressive riding style – the electric scooter is easily capable of riding for 30-35 miles.

The charging time is a bit long: it can take up to 7 hours to fully charge the electric scooter (from empty).

Why we like about INOKIM Quick 4 Super:

  • Folding Mechanism and portability

Even though it’s a bit heavy, this is a fine electric scooter for commuters. It’s portability features are excellent: it’s easy and quick to fold and unfold and, by fondling the handgrips too, it makes you save even more space when you store it.

  • Best display

The wide display is well-visible under any light conditions, and it’s clear. All info is available at a glance.

  • Brakes

The brakes mounted on this electric scooter are top-grade: they make the device 100% safe.

  • Strong built

Along with the quality of the brakes, the strong construction also makes the INOKIM Quick 4 Star Electric Scooter sturdy, durable and stable.

What we didn't like about INOKIM Quick 4 Super:

● Short Deck
The main issue with the short deck isn’t the comfort of your feet. Your feet will comfortably find a place on it even if it’s one of the shortest we’ve ever seen. The issue here is the balance, especially during braking. We’ve mentioned it above: when you pull the brake levers hard, you want to bring your body weight rearward, even if you can’t move your feet. This means that you need to pull your low back backward: it’s nothing you can’t get used too but this could have been easily resolved with a longer deck.
● Weak front lights
We’ve mentioned above that the deck lights aren’t enough to improve your visibility on the road when it’s dark. You necessarily want to equip your electric scooter with an additional headlight if you know you’re going to ride at night or with poor light conditions. After you’ve spent over $1,000 for this electric scooter, having to spend additional money for a headlight isn’t exactly ideal!
● Charging time
The INOKIM Quick 4 Super takes up to 7 hours to be fully charged. This is a lot. This is too much. A second charging port would have solved the problem

Our rating

Features 85%
Battery range 80%
Top speed 80%
Quality 90%
Value for money 85%

Conclusion

For $1,000, which is more or less the price the INOKIM Quick 4 Star comes in most marketplaces, you can certainly have a faster electric scooter than this. But what’s the point of that if you can’t ride that fast on the city roads? This electric scooter has all the needed features for an ideal e-scooter for commuters: it’s safe, it’s portable and easy to ride. The suspensions provide extra stability on the road.

We recommend the INOKIM Quick 4 Star to all commuters who have the proper budget.
