Some electric scooters are cheap, some are suitable for beginners, some are only suitable for flat asphalt and smooth skating parks… and then there’s NanRobot LS7. As one of the most powerful electric scooters available, it’s definitely not suitable for beginners, faint of heart, or those who are on a budget. The NanRobot LS7 costs around $3000 and it’s totally worth it!

What makes this electric scooter so special? What makes the NanRobot LS7 worth $3000? We are going to find it out in this article. Without further delay, let’s break down any details that make this electric scooter by NanRobot so special.

Quality and Design of Nanrobot LS7 Electric Scooter :

The NanRobot LS7 looks like the beast it is: very simple and tough in its design, it doesn’t feature those slim lines that many appreciated in fancy electric scooters. Being pretty was not the aim of this electric scooter when it was born: the NanRobot LS7 was built to be powerful, not pretty.

The electric scooter is not made to be portable. It has a folding mechanism that is very strong and reliable, but it’s not meant to allow the user to carry the electric scooter with them: it’s only for storage purposes. The NanRobot LS7 is too big and heavy to be portable: it weighs 88 lbs, and the 135 cm x 52 cm x 60 cm dimensions when folded make it hard even to store it in a car trunk. Again, this is not what the NanRobot LS7 was designed for.

The battery is usually the heaviest part of an electric scooter. The NanRobot LS7’s battery is heavy, but its overall frame is heavy too. Being heavy means that it’s sturdy, durable and makes the electric scooter extremely stable on and off roads. A lighter frame would only be dangerous for an e-scooter that can reach 50 mph.

Last but not least, the NanRobot LS7 comes with an IP 54 waterproof rating. It means it’s protected against water splashes from all angles. However, you should avoid riding under heavy rain (it wouldn’t be that safe) and leave your electric scooter parked outside when there’s bad weather.

Handlebars

The NanRobot LS7’s handlebar is not 100% straight but has gentle curves that make it sort of aerodynamic. The handgrips are ergonomic and rubberized for a comfortable and firm grip. Brake levers are located in front of each handgrip and activate the rear and front brakes.

The distribution of buttons and controllers is similar to other high-end electric scooters: on the left side, you have two buttons that you can rich with your thumb without moving your hand from the handgrip. The yellow one activates or deactivates the energy-saving mode, while the red engages or disengages the second motor. They are two ways of limiting the speed and saving the battery for longer rides.

On the right side, you have the LCD Display, the accelerator, and additional controls. The accelerator is a small and highly responsive lever that you can pull with your right index finger. The LCD Display is highly visible even under direct sunlight and gives useful information about speed, battery percentage, and gear. Yes, this electric scooter has 3 gears and you can change them. Through the gear shift that is a small button located on the LCD Display.

Any control is easily reachable without loosening your grip on the handlebar.

Brakes

Given its power, the NanRobot LS7’s brakes are very strong. They are front and rear Nutt hydraulic brakes plus a rear mechanic foot brake. Hydraulic brakes are the most powerful and sensitive brakes you can have on an electric scooter. Given the power and the speed that this electric scooter is capable of, these brakes were necessary. They are able to stop the electric scooter in a few feet even if you’re riding at top speed, and they offer great control during the riding. These brakes make the NanRobot LS7 safe despite being a beast.

When you ride on the road and at a limited speed, you should keep in mind that these brakes are very sensitive: pull the lever gently because the brakes are highly responsive.

Tires

The fun fact about the NanRobot LS7’s tires is that when you look at them they seem solid tires: they are not, they are 11-inch pneumatic tires that are so tough that they look solid. They are 3.5’’ wide, they are highly resistant against punctures (many users have reported no flats after prolonged usage), and they are amazing when riding off-road.

These tires, however, have some little cons when you ride in urban environments: they can be noisy and they provide less acceleration and speed than regular road tires. If you mostly ride on the city roads, you can always change the tires with a pair of regular road ones and have such issues fixed.

Lights

Finally, an electric scooter that doesn’t need you to buy any additional light! With other models and other brands, you have electric scooters that cost $1000 or $2000 and still you need to purchase additional headlights if you want to see something when you ride after sunset. The NanRobot LS7 electric scooter has a set of lights that enhances your safety while also improving your visibility.
● Headlights. Two LED lights are located on the stem, plus two more are mounted low just in front of the deck. They are extremely powerful and efficient in illuminating the road ahead (other than making you and your electric scooter highly visible on the road)
● Turn LIghts. Just like any road vehicle, the NanRobot LS7 has turn lights to signal the direction you’re taking.
● Brake light. Red rear light activates whenever you use the brakes, just like it happens for cars or motorcycles.

Deck and Kickstand

The NanRobot LS7 has a large and long deck. Both feet will rest on it comfortably without the need of resting the rear one on the rear wheel pad. The large deck brings a lot of stability; you may think that it could impair the agility of the device a bit, but it does not. The performance of this electric scooter is great, and the large deck only provides enhanced control and stability.
The retractable kickable is very useful, you wouldn’t know how to park or leave your electric scooter otherwise.

Suspensions

The suspension system on the NanRobot LS7 is simply amazing. It features adjustable C-type suspension on both front and rear wheels, two hydraulic shock and orders, plus 4. Springs on the front wheels. This system can absorb any irregularity of the road, but it also makes the electric scooter suitable for off-road riding, jumps, and… adventures! You can have full control riding down a hill on a dirt road, and power enough for climbing a hill on the gravel.

Assembling

The NanRobot LS7 arrives in a big and heavy box. NanRobot usually double box their electric scooter for shippers: so your electric scooter will actually come inside two boxes: an external “shield” and then another internal layer. For an electric scooter of this price, this extra care meant to make it reach your house undamaged, unscratched, and fully functional is appreciated.

The box includes the electric scooter, the charger, and (if you ordered it together with your electric scooter) the attachable seat. The electric scooter comes folded, and you can simply unfold it and secure the stem in a vertical position. You then need to mount the handlebar to the stem which is quick and easy that anyone could do. Tires are already mounted. They’re pneumatic so you may want to check their pressure before going out for your first ride. This is basically everything you need to do after you pull your new NanRobot LS7 out of its box, other than – of course – charging it!

Performance for Nanrobot LS7:

Speaking of performance, this electric scooter has few valid competitors. Let’s speak about the speed, shall we? The nominal top speed claimed for NanRobot LS7 by its manufacturers is 52mph. Well, the NanRobot LS7 can reach that speed even without those “ideal riding conditions” that are necessary for other brands. Let us explain this: when a manufacturer claims a top speed for an electric scooter, you may actually find yourself unable to reach it when you ride it. Why? Because that top speed is referred to as ideal riding conditions which are a light rider, flat and smooth terrain, a gentle riding style, etc… The NanRobot LS7 cuts off the doubts and claims a top speed that is actually and easily reachable! So, if you buy the NanRobot LS7 you’ll be actually able to ride at 52 mph.

Two 1800W motors are responsible for such speed. However, speed isnìt the only amazing feature that such powerful motors can provide. When you have a power like this at your disposal, you can climb hills without losing too much speed, you can ride off-road, and you have great control over your electric scooter.

The acceleration is also incredibly fast: with this electric scooter, you can go from 0 to 21 mph in 3 seconds! When a device is so powerful, it’s useful to be able to limit such power. You can limit the NanRobot LS7’s in different ways: disengaging one of the two motors, activating the ECO mode, limiting the speed through the selected gears: this is all possible thanks to a few simple controls located on the handlebars (we’ve described them above).

Battery life and charging time

The NanRobot LS7 features a 60 V / 35 Ah Lithium battery with an energy storage capacity of 2100 Wh. If this data says nothing to you this one will be more comprehensible: you can ride this electric scooter for 62 miles with a single charge.

For those who’d like to save some money, the NanRobot LS7 is also available with a 25 Ah battery (instead of 35 Ah): in this case, the mile range is 37 miles, which is quite impressive as well.

The smaller battery has the advantage of (other than being cheaper) charging more quickly. WIth the 35 AH battery, a full charge – from empty to 100% – can take several hours (up to 10), which is quite a lot. However, when you can go for 62 miles on a single charge, you won’t need to charge the electric scooter that often. Furthermore, the NanRobot LS7 is equipped with two charging ports: by using both, you can halve the charging time. However, only one charger is included in the box, so if you want a faster charging you’ll need to purchase a second charger separately.

Why we like about Nanrobot LS7 Electric Scooter:

  • Top Speed. We appreciate that the nominal top speed corresponds to the actual reachable speed.
  • Performance: the NanRobot LS7 isn’t only fast. It’s powerful, capable of taking you uphills, downhills, on and off roads, and for long distances.
  • Mile-range: the NanRobot LS7 has an impressive mileage for both the battery options available.
  • Enhanced control over different features: well-aware of the electric scooter power, the manufacturer made the rider able to have great control over its speed (you can limit in different ways), suspensions (they’re adjustable) brakes (they’re very sensitive), and more.

What we didn't like about Nanrobot LS7 Electric Scooter:

  • The tires aren’t ideal for riding on the city roads. They could be slippery and noisy. The issue can be fixed by mounting regular road tires on the electric scooter, but this would be an additional cost to an already expensive electric scooter;
  • Highly sensitive brakes. The brakes are great and provide extra-safety. But you need to pay attention and pull the brake levers gently since they are highly responsive;
  • The rear brake pad is the less durable part of the electric scooter. It costs over $3000, we don’t want “less durable”!

Our rating

Conclusion

Not suitable for beginners, kids, or anyone on a budget, for all the others this electric scooter is a true monster. It’s capable of impressive performance while also being safe and durable. Definitely expensive, the NanRobot LS7 Electric Scooter is worth every single buck.
