Quality and design for Swagger 2 Classic electric scooter.

The Swagtron Swagger Classic Foldable Electric Scooter (SG-2) has an elegant design, with a durable body. It weighs only 22 Lbs. thanks to its carbon fiber body, and it is one of the lightest scooters on the market. The scooter comes in 2 options, black and white. Both are equally classy and streamlined, and you will certainly appreciate the visuals of this scooter.

Let’s break down the components and talk about design.

1. Foldable design

The Swagger 2 Classic electric scooter has a convenient foldable design, so you can easily store it at work or carry it around on the bus. When folded, the scooter measures only 43.3 x 17 x 11.8 in. and you can be sure to find a storage space for it under your desk.
The scooter has a lever on its deck that can be moved to switch between folded and unfolded. To fold, you need to push the lever towards the deck and then pull down the stem towards the deck until it is firmly notched in place. Then you simply put the lever back in its original position to lock the stem. To unfold, again push the lever down and pull the stem up. It is as easy as that! This latch feature makes the scooter very secure and makes sure that the scooter never accidentally folds while riding.

The folding mechanism is great; however, the true test is when you are riding the scooter, and the Swagger 2 Classic will certainly deliver what it promises, giving you a smooth and hassle-free experience.

2. Handlebars

The handlebars are ergonomic and fit in your hands comfortably. They have minimal controls on them, including a throttle, a hand brake, LED display and a charging port. The handbrake is to the left and the throttle is to the right. The LED display is nestled between these two and features a power button along with up/down buttons. You can see the battery, speed and current gear on the display. To switch between the 3 gears offered on this scooter, simply press the up/down arrows to adjust according to your needs. The display will automatically shut off after 5 minutes of staying idle, to preserve battery life which is a great feature.

The handlebar also has a bright headlight that is powerful enough for the night, and you can easily ride the scooter when it is dark outside.

3. Brakes

The e-scooter has front electronic brakes that you operate with the handbrakes and a rear friction brake that you operate with your foot by pressing a paddle on the deck. Both brakes work great and either of them can bring the electric scooter to a complete halt, however, the electronic brakes are more suited for faster speeds or when you are going uphill. Given the price tag on this scooter, we can’t complain about the brakes.

4. Deck

The deck of the Swagtron Swagger Classic Foldable Electric Scooter (SG-2) has a sandpaper texture to provide a good grip, and the scooter is well-balanced and steady. Even at low speeds, you can rest assured that the e-scooter will not topple over or lose balance. The deck also has a kickstand attached, and when not in use, you can use it to keep the scooter upright. This is a great feature when you don’t want to fold the scooter for storage.

5. Tires

The Swagger 2 classic has solid rubber tires, and this gives it a lot of stability. You don’t have to worry about getting a flat tire, and this helps to navigate the scooter on uneven surfaces. To keep the ride as smooth as possible, the scooter has a front-fork spring suspension.

The assembly is very easy as the scooter comes mostly assembled in the box. All you have to do is attach the handles and kickstand, and the scooter is ready to go. You can easily assemble even if you are not tech-savvy, and the manual will give you all the instructions.

Performance for Swagger 2 Classic Foldable electric scooter.

Perhaps the most important quality that people look for when buying an electric scooter is the performance. The Adult & Youth Electric Scooter, Swagger 2 Classic has a 200W hub motor, which will provide you with enough power for everyday use. The scooter can carry a maximum load of 200 Lbs., making it especially suitable for teenagers. This 200W motor is encased in aluminum, to prevent damage from any falls.

The e-scooter has 3 gears, that you can control from the up/down buttons on the LED display. The first 2 are for light use, giving you a speed of up to 9.3 Mph. The third gear is your best friend if you want maximum performance, and it will take the speed up to 15.5 Mph while carrying the maximum load. This can easily take you uphill with an incline of 20 degrees.

You have the option of starting the scooter as a kick scooter and turning on the throttle when you reach 4.0 Mph. This manual acceleration feature saves battery. You can also turn off this feature any time and simply start the throttle without manually accelerating. The amazing Cruise control feature will keep the scooter running without the need to constantly keep the throttle engaged. The scooter has an auto guard feature that cuts off power when you engage the front electric brake, and stops it instantly.

The Swagger 2 Classic has a 29.4V, 5.28 Ah rechargeable battery. The manufacturer promises up to 9 miles of distance per charge with a 200 Lbs. rider. However, in reality, the battery is not so stellar. It only lasts around 5 miles, which is enough for a short commute but it may not be suitable if you need to cover a long distance every day.

The battery takes 5-6 hours to charge, and one charge will last only one day if you ride a lot. The scooter does have a function that prevents it from overcharging which is great and helps protect the battery.

The battery is one of the pitfalls of this scooter, and if you have a long commute, this scooter may not be the best choice for you.

What we liked about the Swagger 2 Classic

  • Durable, stylish design.
  • Good performance for the price tag
  • 3 gears give you more control over the scooter
  • Throttle and cruise control work very well
  • The headlight makes the scooter great for use at night
  • The scooter is compact and easy to carry
  • Good customer support

What we didn't like about the Swagger 2 Classic

  • Battery life is less than promised, and it can only support 5-6 miles per charge in certain conditions.

The Adult & Youth Electric Scooter, Swagger 2 Classic is a great choice for those who are on a budget. It has a powerful motor, stylish design and some great features like a kickstand and headlights. It is perfect for teens or adults as a starter scooter and is fully capable of providing maximum comfort and functionality. The latch mechanism and auto guard guarantee safety and ease of use. If you want to buy an electric scooter for the first time, this is a great potential choice that will ease you into the vast world of electric scooters, while being light on the pocket.
