Quality and Design of DUALTRON X2 Electric Scooter :
The DUALTRON X2 looks different from any other e-scooter on the market. While MiniMotors and the Dualtron electric scooter series are well known for constructing sturdy devices, the DUALTRON X2 stands out for its bulkiness and strong construction.
The DUALTRON X2 features a large and thick frame with visible thick cables and suspensions. Those looking for a slim and lightweight electric scooter to reach the bus station must look away from the DUALTRON X2 because this is strong, stable, big, and heavy.
While it features a foldable design, this is only meant for storage purposes. With a weight of 66kg, it’s impossible to use this electric scooter for commuting to a bus station and take the e-scooter on the bus with you. You must think of this electric scooter as any other means of transport – maybe it’s less cumbersome than a motorcycle, but the use you’re going to make of it will be nearly the same.
Handlebars
The DUALTRON X2 features a straight and thick handlebar. The handgrips are ergonomic and rubberized for enhanced comfort and a firmer grip, and both handgrips have a brake lever in front of them so that you can easily operate the electric scooter’s brakes. There’s a small panel control on the left through which you can control the lights, operate the direct light, and activate the ECO or TURBO mode.
On the right side of the handlebar, you’ll find the accelerator and LCD display. The accelerator is made of a small lever that you can pull with your index finger while riding and regulate your speed by pulling or releasing it. The LCD display is perfectly visible both under direct sunlight and at night. It provides all the information you may need to know about your electric scooter and your riding.
Tires
The DUALTRON X2 is the absolute best also in terms of tires. It features 13’’ ultra-wide tubeless tires: the best tire you can have on an electric scooter. Wide tires are the best because they provide enhanced balance and stability; they’re also ideal for off-road paths and other types of rough terrains. Inflated tires provide better comfort and enhanced performance. If the air pressure is the con of inflated tires (because you need to check it every once in a while) MiniMotors has provided the DUALTRON X2 with a mark on the side of the tire that shows maximum air pressure.
These tires are also tubeless: it means that they are the easiest to mount and dismount when they need to be replaced.
Lights
The DUALTRON X2 features lights that run all over its body: on the stem tube (which has a flat design) and on the deck. You have additional lights under the deck and on the rims.
Most importantly, this electric scooter also features direction lights that you can comfortably operate through the small panel on the handlebar with your left thumb, and a Dual LED front lamp to illuminate the road ahead. With such a light set, you are well visible on the road while also being able to improve your vision while riding.
Deck
When compared to other electric scooters with a similar conventional design, the Pure Air Pro features a wider deck. Not everyone enjoys larger decks even though they provide some extra comfort and room for your feet.
The main reason why someone may not like the wide deck is that the electric scooter can become a little less agile and responsive especially in tight curves. The Pure Air Pro didn’t show any particular agility issue during our tests, however, this aspect can be considered a matter of personal taste.
Brakes
Hydraulic front and rear brakes are mounted on the DUALTRON X2. Hydraulic brakes are powerful and require no maintenance. They’re efficient in any condition, even when they’re wet.
These brakes make this fast and powerful electric scooter 100% safe: they can bring it to a full stop within a few feet, and they’re highly responsive to the gentle touches on the brake levers when you need to only slightly slow down your device.
Deck & Kickstand
All electric scooters on the market today feature retractable kickstands. As e-scooter are replacing traditional means of transport, being able to comfortably park your device is more and more important. One small detail worth noticing: on the gray version, the kickstand is also dark gray, in line with the originality of the look.
Assembling
The DUALTRON X II comes in a special frame that provides extra protection during transport. So, the very first thing you need to do when you receive your DUALTRON X 2 is disassembling the frame. Tires and stem and handlebars are already mounted, you’ll only need to put the handgrip in their place. You can secure the brake levers and accelerator in your favorite spot, and then – after you’ve charged the device – you’re ready to go.
Performance for DUALTRON X2:
The DUALTRON X 2’s performances are simply impressive. It can reach a speed of 68 mph thanks to an 8,300W BLDC Dual hub motor. With such power, you’ll have no difficulties riding on every type of terrain. Hills, bumps, and other obstacles will no longer be a problem with this electric scooter.
Because it’s so powerful, the DUALTRON X 2 allows you to slow the speed down. You can activate the ECO mode to reduce the speed limit and have a longer battery life.
Battery life
The DUALTRON X2 battery compartment is top-grade: it comprises a main 72V 42AH – LG – Li-ion battery and a sub 60V 3AH – LG – Li-ion battery. With these batteries, you can ride for a total of almost 10 hours with a mileage of about 93 miles.
Like some other electric scooters in the DUALTRON series, the X2 has two charging ports. This allows you to cut the charging time by using two standard chargers (however, only one will come included in the box).
Why we like about DUALTRON X2 Electric Scooter:
We like the DUALTRON X2 because it’s like no other electric scooter in the market today. No other electric scooter has the same feature of construction and performance.
What we didn't like about DUALTRON X2 Electric Scooter:
- Price
This is one of the best electric scooters around but it’s also one of the most expensive. Not everyone will be able to afford a 6,000-dollar electric scooter.
- Aesthetics
This is a bulky electric scooter with big and visible suspensions. If the sturdy construction is what allows for its safety and performance, it doesn’t provide a good and stylish look to the device.
Conclusion
Like we’ve said, not everyone will be able to afford the DUALTRON X2 electric scooter. It costs more than 6,000 dollars! But those who have the proper budget can have an amazing electric scooter, capable of carrying them everywhere, capable of being fun and adventurous.
Fast and safe, big and strong, and best of all – an even better version of the legendary DUALTRON X, the DUALTRON X II is the perfect sustainable replacement for your old and polluting means of transport.
