This HOVERSTAR Electric Scooter is considered an entry product for younger people, suitable for kids learning how to ride a scooter. It features a fun and colored design, available in pink, red, black and blue. The deck (29 x 7 inches) is wide enough for maximum comfort and stability, while the height is adjustable to fit the kid’s size.
The HOVERSTAR Electric Scooter isn’t foldable but it won’t be heavy for kids to carry since it only weighs 21 pounds.
Handlebar
The HOVERSTAR Electric Kick Start Scooter features an adjustable handlebar to fit the child size. It’s also provided with colored rubber handgrips to add style but most of all for handling purposes. On the left side, a big brake lever is highly visible and easily reachable for the little rider. With their right hand (right thumb in particular) kids can also press the red throttle button to increase their speed. (To decrease the speed they’ll simply need to use the brake).
Breaks
The HOVERSTAR Electric Scooter doesn’t feature any footbrake. It comes with a big and easy-to-use brake lever that children can operate with their left hand. The braking system works just like a regular bike so it’s easy for kids to operate it and safely slow down or stop the scooter. Another safety feature is the maximum speed set at 6 MPH: it’s fast enough to allow children to have fun and go wherever they want, but it is also slow enough to ensure their safety.
Kickstand
The HOVERSTAR Electric Scooter is provided with a small but steady kickstand. It’s very useful when you need to store or recharge the scooter especially because it is not foldable. It’s easy for kids to use it too.
Although it’s very steady and sturdy, kids have no difficulties using it: they can easily be put down or back up with one hand.

The scooter’s deck is wide enough to give comfort and a stable ride.

Assembly:
The HOVERSTAR Electric Scooter requires a little assembly. The estimated assembly and set up time is approximately 10 – 15 minutes. It’s not an eternity, but this means that your kid won’t probably be able to do it. On the other hand, an adult will have absolutely no difficulties assembling the electric scooter.
Performance for HOVERSTAR Electric Scooter:
The product is well built and most of all are very easy to use for younger children once you’ve assembled it for them. The first thing they’ll need to do is turn on the device through the button placed on the deck and lift the kickstand. Once they’re on the scooter they’ll need to kick start it. If the child jumps on the scooter and just presses the throttle button nothing would happen. They need to start the ride as it was a traditional scooter. After a couple of kicks, the electric motor begins to work. It’s best to keep the scooter on flat terrain. Some elevations like hills shouldn’t present much of a problem, but children may have difficulty riding over rough terrain.
The hand braking system is very efficient. Children can operate it very easily. The maximum speed doesn’t allow a dangerous performance, but it’s still fast enough to ensure the best fun.
Battery life and charging time
The HOVERSTAR Electric Scooter features a 12V battery. It has a high capacity and allows children to run their scooters for 45 minutes (maximum 5-mile range). The battery recharge is a bit slow: it takes 12 hours to fully recharge it.

We thought of summarizing what we liked about the HOVERSTAR Electric Scooter as follows:
- Ease of use. The device is very easy for children to start and ride. Once an adult has assembled it for them, they’ll need no more help.
- Safety features. The not elevated maximum speed and the efficient hand brake system ensure the device is safe even for younger riders.
- Battery life. The battery lasts long enough to have a lot of fun in the park or around the neighborhood, but also to commute to school and back home.
What we didn't like about HOVERSTAR Electric Scooter:
In the same way, we’ve summarised what we don’t like about the device in two main points.
- Assembly in required. Even though it doesn’t require engineering skills, we all prefer to buy devices that come ready for use.
- Long battery recharge. The battery takes a very long time to get to full charge. You’ll probably need to leave the scooter plugged in overnight.
Conclusion
In our opinion, the HOVERSTAR Electric Kick Start Scooter has some interesting features but also some downfalls. We talked about them in the course of this review and there’s no need to repeat them. What we’d like to point as we approach to the end of the article is that the HOVERSTAR’s pros outweigh the cons. After all, once you’ve spent those 15 minutes assembling the scooter, you won’t have to put your hands on it anymore, and the battery recharge time isn’t different from similar devices from other brands.
